Should I Take Ozempic to Lose Weight?

Celebrities, housewives, and regular people are losing weight quickly using Ozempic, but is it safe and effective for all of us? Ozempic, generically named Semaglutide, is a treatment approved by the FDA in 2017 for Type II diabetics. Its function on the body is to reduce blood sugar levels and decrease appetite, thus supporting obesity and weight loss. While it has not been approved for weight loss, many people who are not diagnosed with Type II diabetes are using it specifically for that side effect.

Semaglutide works on the pancreas by helping to produce insulin. Insulin, a hormone, regulates blood sugar levels and turns food into energy, controlling metabolism. In individuals with Type II diabetes, this is necessary, yet for an individual without Type II diabetes, it can cause a hypoglycemic coma. The hypoglycemic coma will become more severe if the individual actively exercises to lose weight and is not diabetic.

Signs and symptoms of a hypoglycemic coma are acute and rapid. While signs and symptoms can vary from individual, they can include:

Neurological: confusion, blurry vision, impaired concentration, and brain fog

Nervous System and Adrenal: heart palpitations, body tremors, excessive sweating, and excessive hunger

Loss of consciousness can occur if the above signs and symptoms are not treated by ingesting carbohydrates.

Ozempic can also cause gastrointestinal discomfort, including nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation, and diarrhea, and affect the quality of the internal organs.

Healthy weight loss is not just about losing weight but also about keeping the body healthy and strong. Nutritional and lifestyle changes are imperative to losing weight; if these are not made when taking Ozempic, the weight will return and might increase.

Using a drug to suppress appetite only masks the problem and doesn't treat the root cause of weight gain. We live in a society that is based on trends and fads that can cause damage to both the physical and mental body. If you feel Ozempic is what you need for weight loss, you should consult your medical doctor and work with an acupuncturist and nutritionist.

As weight begins to decrease, it is essential to stay well-nourished to keep bones, blood vessels, organs, and the brain healthy and productive. Drugs acting like hormones in the body can affect our longevity and future genetic makeup.

At the Tao of Wellness, if taking Ozempic or not, we recommend starting with our detox protocol, including an herbal tea, acupuncture, detox diet, and detox qi gong for weight loss. It’s essential to rid the body of any inflammation that may hang out and help clean toxins out of the lymph and lymph system. Once the detox portion is complete, we focus on the vibrant energy of the Spleen to rebalance sugar levels in the body with a formula like Sugar Leveler PLUS as well as adjust nutrition, lifestyle, and exercise for the patient. In addition, Metabo-MAX which contains green tea extracts and other herbs can increase metabolic rate, making weight loss easier.
