Dr. Daoshing Ni, D.O.M, L.Ac., Ph.D, Dipl.C.H.
Dr. Dao is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of California and is
a Diplomat of Chinese Herbology NCCA. Dr. Dao has been active in the TCM
profession as well as professional organizations. He was an examiner for
the California Acupuncture Committee and also participated in the
Chinese Herbology Exam development for NCCA. Well known and respected
for his special interest in reproductive and gynecological conditions.
Dr. Dao is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine,
Pacific Coast Fertility Society, and American Association of Oriental
Medicine.

Dr. Maoshing Ni, L.AC., D.O.M., PH.D., DIPL. C.H., DIPL. ABAAP
Dr. Mao is a Licensed Acupuncturist, a Diplomat of Chinese Herbology and a Diplomat in Anti-Aging. He is currently in general practice with special interest in immune, hormonal and aging related conditions. He was awarded the Outstanding Acupuncturist of the Year Award in 1987. Dr. Mao along with Dr. Dao, his brother and father, founded Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Monica. He is currently director and a professor of Chinese medicine at Yo San University. Dr. Mao is a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the AOM ALLIANCE, American Society of Acupuncturist, the American Association of Acupuncturist
& Oriental Medicine and National certification Commission for Acupuncturist
& Oriental Medicine Diplomat in Chinese Herbology.

Jessica Chen L.Ac. DIPL.O.M.
Jessica Chen earned a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional
Chinese Medicine from Yo San University, graduating with highest honors.
During her internship, Jessica has gained extensive knowledge of
Traditional Chinese Medicine through visiting several hospitals in
Taipei, Taiwan, her hometown. At the end of 2005, she was awarded with a
Fellowship at Tao of Wellness, practicing under the directions of
Doctors Daoshing Ni and Maoshing Ni. Jessica also holds a Certification
for Cosmetic Acupuncture and Chinese Nutrition.

James Evans L.Ac.
James Evans graduated from Yo San University of Traditional Chinese
Medicine in 2006, after being inspired by Hua-Ching Ni to become a
healer and teacher of health and wellness. Upon graduating with honors
he was awarded a Fellowship at Tao of Wellness under the tutelage of
Doctors Daoshing and Maoshing Ni. As the Director and coordinator of the
Tao of Wellness Detox program, he runs the popular monthly cleansing and
regeneration retreats. He also lectures in Taoist philosophy at Yo San
University.
Prior to becoming a licensed Acupuncturist in California he received
a Masters in business from the University of Rochester and has over ten
years experience in international business.

Andrea Thorpe L.Ac.
Andrea comes with extensive experience in Chinese Medicine.
After graduating from King's college London with a degree in Languages
and comparative literature, she completed the program of Traditional
Chinese Medicine at the London School of Acupuncture and TCM.
Andrea continued her education with two separate trips to China studying
at both the Hangzhou and Nanjing Schools of Chinese Medicine. Upon
her return to Europe she focused her practice on orthopedic, pediatric
health and substance abuse. Working in both England and Gibraltar
Andrea worked both in private practice and within the English National
Health Service.
Andrea came to California in 2003 and completed a Masters degree in
Chinese medicine at Yo San University, she graduated with high honors. Fluent in both spoken and written Spanish, Andrea is the mother of two
beautiful boys and lives with her family in Silver Lake, she is the
newest fellow at the Tao of Wellness.
Fluent in Spanish and basic German, Andrea brings with her a rich
cultural and professional background to patient care at Tao of Wellness.
She will be working closely with both Drs. Dao and Mao to treat patients
with various conditions to add to her experience in orthopedic and
pediatric medicine.

Edsel Tan L.Ac.
Edsel Tan holds a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional
Chinese Medicine from Yo San University as well as a Bachelor of Arts
degree from University of California, Santa Barbara. His interest in
pain medicine and physical rehabilitation led him to pursue advanced
training in various bodywork modalities and to complete a special
internship in Integrative Pain Management at the Venice Family Clinic.
He has also learned about integrating healing modalities through his
work with clinicians of multiple disciplines such as biomedicine,
chiropractic, and physical therapy. At Tao of Wellness, Edsel Tan works
closely with Drs. Dao and Mao as well as with other associates to
continue developing an integrative healthcare model for women’s health,
pain management and other health conditions.

Jason is a licensed acupuncturist, certified InfiniChi
Energy Healing Therapist, and an instructor in chi gong and tai chi.
He graduated from Yo San University with a Master’s degree in
Traditional Chinese Medicine and also received a Bachelor’s degree
from the University of California, Los Angeles. With an interest in
holistic approaches to women’s health and elder care, he will offer
acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, meditation, and life counseling.
Using his media experience, Jason looks forward to expanding the
Tao of Wellness community education outreach. When not practicing
medicine, Jason enjoys hiking, traditional Japanese music, and spending
time with his wife, Breanna, and their new son, Bohdan.
